Johnson County, Iowa.

59 pages contain the claims recorded by the Claim Association of Johnson County, Iowa.  Care has been taken to reproduce the pages as they were reproduced by Benjamin F. Shambaugh in his 1894 book.   Page numbers from the original pages are shown in brackets [x].   His footnotes have been included in parentheses in the text of the claim to which they refer.  In several instances a footnote may have relevance to other claims as well.  It should be noted that spellings, capitalization and punctuation are quite different than would be used in formal writing today.  In many cases the lack of punctuation and how capitalization is used makes the claim difficult to read.
